Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Hands-only CPR can double or even triple a person's chance of survival following a sudden cardiac arrest. When someone collapses and stops breathing normally, every minute without CPR and defibrillation significantly reduces their chances of survival.

By pushing hard and fast in the centre of the chest, you can keep oxygen-rich blood flowing to the brain and vital organs until emergency services arrive. You do not need any special equipment or formal medical training to perform hands-only CPR – taking action immediately could save the life of a family member, friend, colleague or even a stranger.
